St. Cecilia: a religious musical person
"He who sings, prays twice," said St. Augustine has said. And, says an old proverb: "Where you sing, there let you down evil people know no songs.."
Yes, the singing has a profound significance, both for our lives and for our faith. By singing in our soul resonates in harmony and the harmony of God. The soul thus grow wings and life becomes easier. And by singing invisible bridges can be built: bridges between man and man, but also and especially between man and God.
Today is the anniversary of St. Cecilia. From ancient times, it is revered as a patron of song and music. We do not know in what way has plowed Cecilia singing. One thing is certain: She was a religious musical person. And she was so in a time of religious unmusical, that is full of God afar.
Cecilia died as a martyr. Martyrs are called to bear witness. Cecilia was and is a witness that God wants us to achieve the harmony andthat we are called to share in the harmony of God. This may prevent us from nothing and nobody.
