St. Elizabeth - a big Unadapted
Our life asks us often from adaptation: adaptation to the place where we live and adapt to our social environment, adapting to different customs and habits. A lot of people raises the question: Do I join in all this? Do I have to add me always unconditionally? I have absolutely no leeway?
One thing is certain: A life in following Jesus can not only be lived to the respective social environment in adaptation and conformity. Jesus himself has not lived in all adapted and compliant, nor his disciples and all the saints, we worship.
Today is the anniversary of St. Elizabeth. She was a true master in the art to adapt not everything and everyone. come as a Hungarian princess as a child on the Wartburg in Thuringia, If she had been committed to the court ceremonial. The relationship with her husband should have been anything but a genuine and passionate love. And of course, strict separation would have been announced to all those who have not complied with the noble conditions, especially the poor. But Elizabeth was Elizabeth. It was you did not let himself be pressed. And so it is up to us today as a great lover, as a social worker for the poor, as a great disciple of Jesus Christ.
